Job summary

Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Embedded Software Automation and Tools team. You will build full stack apps and services supporting end-to-end automation and test infrastructure, with emphasis on performance, reliability, and AI integration.

You will collaborate across frontend and backend, design scalable APIs, and deploy cloud-native services on AWS with Kubernetes. The role requires strong technical judgment and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of proven full stack engineering experience with production web applications and backend services.
• Proficiency in Python and modern web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Strong frontend skills in TypeScript/JavaScript, Next.js, React, and MUI.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, REST API design and integration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab and test-driven development.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full stack web applications to support end-to-end automation and test infrastructure.
• Integrate AI capabilities including LLM-driven experiences in toolsets.
• Develop APIs and microservices for test and quality workflows.
• Deploy, scale, and monitor services in cloud environments using Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver external partner-facing tooling.
• Architect and own technical solutions with scalable, reliable designs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and user requirements.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance and reliability.
• Mentor less experienced engineers through architectural reviews.
