Job summary

Epos Now in Norwich is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Embedded Accountancy Project, taking high-level technical ownership and delivering end-to-end engineering.

You will guide system design, optimize data logic, and mentor the team, shaping scalable financial workflows within our cloud-native platform. A strong background in APIs, data pipelines, and microservices is required.

Qualifications

• Senior or Lead Software Engineer with extensive commercial experience.
• Proven expertise in object-oriented programming, backend design, and database architectures.
• Strong background building or integrating APIs, data pipelines, microservices, or financial/ledger systems.
• Ability to interpret complex technical requirements, design scalable systems, and guide a developing team.
• Willingness to work from Norwich Head Office (Unit 7).

Responsibilities

• Take high-level technical ownership of the Embedded Accountancy Project.
• Drive the end-to-end engineering delivery of the Embedded Accountancy Project.
• Guide internal system design, optimize data logic, and ensure scalability and long‑term codebase quality for our financial integrations.
• Champion technical discussions and refine developer best practices.
• Work closely with engineering leads and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Shape system design and mentor team members.
• Ensure seamless integration of robust financial workflows into our global platform infrastructure.

Requirements

• Extensive commercial experience as a Senior or Lead Software Engineer
• Proven expertise in object-oriented programming, modern backend design, and database architectures
• Strong background building or integrating complex APIs, data pipelines, microservices, or financial/ledger systems
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical requirements, design scalable software systems, and provide technical guidance to a developing team
• Proximity or willingness to work from our Norwich Head Office (Unit 7)
