Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Apps team of a leading SaaS company in Belfast. This team is responsible for building and maintaining the apps that power user experiences on digital screens, creating tools that enable users to design, customize, and deploy their own content.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain APIs and backend infrastructure powering the ScreenCloud app ecosystem.
• Build scalable, event-driven solutions using TypeScript on Node.js, deploying to AWS with serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway).
• Collaborate closely with designers, testers, product owners, and other engineers to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Design, develop, and implement visual drag-and-drop tools for no-code/low-code app creation.
• Contribute to code quality through testing, peer reviews, and best practices.
• Design systems that can handle millions of requests per day with top-tier reliability.
• Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies to enhance app functionality.
• Proactively identify opportunities for code and process improvements.

Your superpowers:

• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js (experience with PHP is a bonus).
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs (REST or GraphQL).
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services, particularly serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB).
• Understanding of cloud architecture, with experience designing event-driven systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high-quality code.
• Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Passion for exploring new technologies, including AI and automation.
• Knowledge of React, Angular, or other front-end frameworks (a bonus).
• Experience with testing tools like Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright (a bonus).
