Role: Senior Software Developer (.NET)

Location: Cardiff (hybrid)

The Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment is excited to work with an innovation-driven civil service organization as they undertake some incredible projects while working with one of the first fully cloud-based organizations.

They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Developer to join an Agile development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and supporting software solutions for both internal and external users, including developing front-end applications and back-end .NET API services. This position is ideal for someone looking to move into a management or mentorship role.

What the Senior Software Developer will do

• Design, code, and debug programs or scripts of medium-to-high complexity, following modern standards and best practices.
• Identify and resolve production issues, manage releases using CI/CD tools, and provide post-live support. Implement improvements based on IT security health checks and recommendations.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand business problems and design innovative solutions.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.

What the successful Senior Software Developer will bring

• Ability to understand business problems and collaboratively design effective solutions.
• Proficiency in software development, including designing new systems and iterating existing services, adhering to best practices and writing clean, maintainable code.
• Support for applications and services, escalating issues to the Lead Developer as necessary.

Technical Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms (such as AWS or Google Cloud).
• Working knowledge of the .NET platform.
