This position is remote, based in Northern Ireland. Our client, a pioneer in educational technology solutions, is seeking a talented Senior Software Developer, Backend, to join their team. • Integrate user-facing elements crafted by front-end developers with server-side logic to improve software interoperability.
• Develop reusable code and libraries for future innovations.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and data security.
• Lead the design and implementation of new functionalities in web products, employing test-driven development.
• Work closely with testing teams to ensure comprehensive automated testing coverage.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve development processes and products.
• Establish best practices within the team to deliver high-quality code efficiently.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing applications for better user experience.
• Proven experience in developing web services using Java or Go, with knowledge of data structures, concurrent programming, and distributed services.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services.
• Strong skills in continuous deployment and test-driven development, including writing unit tests.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to influence technology decisions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
