Job summary

Oxford Instruments Andor in Belfast is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Software and Driver Development Team. The role spans software and driver development, product requirements management, and support for customers and manufacturing.

The successful candidate will have a BSc/BEng in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with 5+ years in software development, strong scripting, OO design, and lifecycle experience. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a software developer role.
  • Experience with source control systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming.
  • Experience across the product development lifecycle from requirements to testing and support.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Software and Driver Development Team to extend and enhance products.

  • Provide customer and manufacturing support as part of the lifecycle.

We are hiring for a Senior Software Developer who will work within the Software and Driver Development Team, extending and enhancing Andor’s innovative scientific product portfolio. The role spans software and driver development, product requirements management, and support for customers and manufacturing.

The Senior Software Developer will have:
  • BSc/BEng qualification in Electrical and Electronic/Software Engineering/Physics or equivalent relevant qualification OR equivalent relevant experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in
    • Software developer role
    • source control
    • object orientated design using industry standard techniques and tools
  • Proficient at scripting and programming
  • Experience in the product development lifecycle from requirements gathering to test and support.
