Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications seeks a senior Software Engineer to lead embedded/app software development within a 5–20 person team for Cyber UK projects. You will design, implement and test software across lifecycle stages, mentor engineers and contribute to proposals, ensuring secure, compliant delivery.

The role expects strong C/C++, OO design and experience with embedded Linux/RTOS, with opportunities for leadership and security clearances where needed.

Qualifications

• Essential: engineering/science degree with experience in embedded software or hardware.
• Experience in embedded product development and Linux/RTOS environments.
• Strong C/C++ and OO design, testing and SOLID patterns.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles and MISRA where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement and test embedded or application software within a team of 5–20 engineers.
• Lead and review software components; mentor junior staff and manage risks.
• Define requirements, drive architecture decisions and support bid/proposal activities.
• Contribute to software community of practice and improve tools/processes.
• Ensure security and compliance per government/regulatory requirements.
