Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Cyber UK Business Unit. You will lead embedding/app software development, architect solutions and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced defense environment.

Expect design, implementation, testing and collaboration across teams. Responsibilities include driving software construction activities, delivering high-quality code, and ensuring compliance with security requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, mathematics or science, or equivalent experience.
• Embedded product development with bare-metal or RTOS (ThreadX, QNX, Linux).
• Strong C and C++ experience and good software testing skills.
• Experience with object-oriented design and SOLID patterns.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, specify requirements, design, implement and test embedded/application software.
• Apply OO design to enable reuse and testing integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead defined aspects of the project.
• Generate technical proposals and provide effort estimates for bids.
