Job summary

Tripod Partners is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Assessment & Intervention Team in Chelmsford, Essex on a locum basis. You will undertake high‑quality assessments of children and families, manage complex caseloads, develop and review care plans, and contribute to safeguarding activities.

The role offers flexible locum work with a dedicated consultant, access to a broad range of social work vacancies across the UK, prompt payroll, and DBS/compliance support.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with active registration.
• Experience in assessment and intervention with children in care.
• Locum/agency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertake high-quality assessments of children and families.
• Manage a varied and complex caseload in line with statutory requirements.
• Develop, implement and review effective care plans and interventions.
• Undertake child protection enquiries and contribute to safeguarding planning where required.
• Work collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies.
• Prepare reports and present cases at relevant meetings and reviews.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with legislation, policies and professional standards.
• Support less experienced colleagues and contribute to effective team practice.
• Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records.
