Job summary

Fife Council is seeking a Senior Social Care Worker based at Lindsay House, Lumphinnans, to lead care home services within OPS Residential & Day Services. The role includes management duties, care planning, and coordinating with health and statutory partners to ensure high care standards.

The post requires SVQ qualifications at SCQF levels 7 and 9, supervisory training, and SSSC registration within six months, with PVG membership. Two fixed contracts and a full-time pattern are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support meeting Health and Social Care standards.
• Plan, implement, monitor and review individual care plans.
• Oversee and monitor working practices and provide on-the-job coaching.
• Manage service user records, medication management and stock control.
• Coordinate rota and attendance management while aligning with policies and procedures.
• Promote independence and social inclusion and map community resources.

SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 7 (or equivalent)

Working Pattern:
1 x 35 hour contract, Monday - Friday (09.00 - 16.42)
1 x 36 hour contract, consisting of working a set shift pattern

Job Details

Exciting opportunities have arisen for a Senior Social Care Worker to be based within one of our care homes operated by OPS Residential & Day Services. This role involves undertaking a range of management and care tasks whilst demonstrating leadership skills in an encouraging and supporting role. Providing "on the job" coaching as necessary, overseeing and monitoring working practices as well as working alongside other professionals, utilising sound practice and knowledge is also essential.

You will also be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the individual care plans, whilst using key concepts within the National Care Standards and establishing and maintaining sound administrative systems, including; service user records, medication management and stock control. The role will also involve, rota management and attendance management whilst assessing potential risks and operating within the framework of service policies and procedures e.g. Health and Safety Regulations, Data Protection Legislation and Confidentiality Policy.

This role involves undertaking a range of management and care tasks whilst demonstrating leadership skills in an encouraging and supporting role.

You will also promote independence and social inclusion while maintaining high care standards by building strong partnerships with health, statutory, and voluntary agencies, and mapping out available community resources.

The Person

Provide care and support which meets the Health and Social Care standards.Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.

You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team.

Practice Qualification - SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7 or equivalent. Supervisory qualification - 15 credits at SCQF level 7 containing supervision /management theory and practice specifically for a supervisor of a care home. Full qualification - SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 9.

If you do not currently hold a benchmark qualification, your registration will be granted subject to the condition that you achieve the required qualification within the timeframe defined by SSSC.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration.

If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.

If you need to achieve a qualification tomaintainyour SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specifiedtimeframe.
