Job summary

East Ayrshire Council's integrated Care at Home service is seeking a proactive supervisor to coordinate, supervise, develop and promote a range of Care at Home Services within East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership. You will help deliver objectives within the Health & Social Care Partnership Plan and Community Plan.

This full-time permanent role requires SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 7 or equivalent and a supervisory qualification, PVG membership, and you will work mainly

Qualifications

• To meet the standards for SSSC registration you must hold SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 7 and a supervisory qualification.
• If you have an equivalent qualification but no supervisory accreditation, post-commencement development is expected.
• PVG Scheme membership is required for regulated work with vulnerable groups.

Job description

As part of an integrated care at home service this role will coordinate, supervise, develop and promote a range of Care at Home Services within East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership. In order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the Health & Social Care Partnership Plan and the Community Plan.

To meet the standards for SSSC registration for “Supervisors in care at home services” you must hold an SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 7 or equivalent practice qualification and a supervisory qualification. Where you hold an equivalent practice qualification but not a supervisory qualification, this can be supported in post subject to your commitment to work towards a Personal Development Award in Supervision within 12 months of commencing post.

PVG

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

We follow the national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks namely “Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment”. With regards to requests for references and in line with this guidance, during your application process you should provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer. It is also a requirement that the reference from your current or most recent employer is from an appropriate senior manager and it is not a reference from a former peer operating at the same level.

The Individual

This is a full time Permanent post based within the Care at home team.

Hours of Work

Monday -Thursday - 9.00am - 5.00pm

Friday -9.00am - 4.00pm

The workstyle for this post is …….‘Fixed’ - 80-100% of your time at a single office base or work location.

You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 4 and 5 days per week.

The admin base for this post is Rothesay House, Cumnock.
