Job summary

Choice Care in Amesbury is seeking a Team Leader to guide a team of social care workers in a residential setting, ensuring the highest level of care and leading by example. You will liaise with senior staff, report concerns, and use your initiative to support residents with learning disabilities and complex needs on a rota that includes weekends.

This role is 36 hours per week at £13.40 per hour, with flexible patterns to fit personal commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience in the care sector is required.
• Willingness to learn and expand on prior knowledge.
• Ability to lead and support a team within a residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment.
• Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home.
• Liaising with managers and other shift leaders.
• Executing tasks in a professional, timely and accurate manner.
• Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food.
• Assisting residents in daily activities both in and away from the home.
• Using initiative to support residents during activities and day-to-day tasks.

Overview of the role

The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and leadby example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern.You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference topeople’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Key duties

Where will youwork?

Willow House is a semi detached 1930’s style house in Amesbury, supporting up to eight individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex health needs. Willow House has eight single bedrooms, five on the ground floor and three on the first floor. The home has it’s own front garden with a driveway and parking areas. The large rear garden backs onto farmland and has a lawn, patio seating area, a deck and a summerhouse. The home its own transport for local travel and leisure and recreational pursuits, including walks around the beautiful countryside.
