Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Team Leader to support a residential care team in Leominster. You will oversee social care workers, ensure high-quality care, and lead by example.

You must have care sector experience and a willingness to learn. The role involves shift patterns and weekends on a rota, with opportunities to develop through our Learning Academy and staff benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Taking the lead with supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment.
  • Supervising a team and assisting with the overall management of the home.
  • Liaising with managers and other shift leaders.
  • Executing tasks in a professional, timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervising and sharing mealtimes with residents to promote a positive dining experience.
  • Assisting residents in daily activities both in and away from the home.
  • Using initiative to support residents during activities and day-to-day tasks.

Overview of the role

The role of the Team Leader is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and leadby example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern.You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference topeople’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Key duties
  • Taking the lead withsupporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment
  • Supervising a team and assisting withthe overall management of the home

Buckfield House has well trained and experienced staff who can support people withautism, dual diagnosis of autism andlearning disabilitywithchallenging behaviour, and othercomplex needs. Staffing levels are assessed and maintained according to the individual needs of the people we support. Buckfield House is situated on the outskirts of the market town of Leominster with its beautiful priory church. There are supermarkets and specialist shops, a hospital, GP and dental services, sports, leisure and educational facilities as well as a bus terminal and main‑line rail station which connects to Shrewsbury, London Paddington and the Midlands.
