Job summary

Choice Care in Winchester is hiring a Social Care Worker to join our busy residential homes. You will be trained and mentored to become a highly skilled professional, with in-house training provided free of charge and a clear career path from day one.

You’ll help residents lead safe, happy, fulfilling lives while supporting daily activities and outings. We offer flexible patterns to fit around personal commitments and a rota system including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Provide personal care as per residents' needs.
  • Support with activities and records.
  • Willing to train with in-house programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing; help with feeding.
  • Medication administration per care plan.
  • Assist residents with daily activities and outings.
  • Follow care plans and company policies.
  • Maintain written daily records.
  • Attend and complete training as required.

Key duties
  • Providing personal care – including bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding
  • Medication administration
  • Assisting and getting involved in residents'daily activities, hobbies or outings
  • Following care plan guidance alongsideCompany policies and procedures
  • Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
  • Maintaining written daily records
  • Attending and completingtraining, as required

Where willyou work?

Compton House, near Winchester, is an eleven-bedroom residential home for residents of varied ages with learning disabilities and complex needs, including those who are non-verbal. Residents are supported with 24-hour staff and our own in-house Positive Behaviour Support Team. Like other Choice Care homes, Compton House offers structured activity programmes to support personal development, including ‘LD Club’, ‘Sensory for All’ and cycling, designed to maximise independence and enable everyone to achieve individual goals at their own pace. The home has its own transport for local travel to the shops and leisure centre, as well as for trips further afield.
