The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and lead by example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Rowan Cottage is a large, bungalow-style house, converted from two, previously semi-detached properties, in the village of Burghfield, five miles south west of Reading. The home provides residential support for eight men of varying ages with mild to moderate learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs. At the rear of the property is a good-sized, safe, enclosed garden with an outdoor covered area. A dedicated day care building provides a space for individual and group activities, organised by the home’s Day Activities Coordinator. The home also has close links with several local charities providing opportunities for volunteer work. Rowan Cottage is close to the local shops and pubs, and has its own transport for trips to go swimming, to the gym and further afield.
