Job summary

Cygnet in the North East is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to drive an evidence-based service across residential care for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will manage a clinical caseload, lead on best practice, and supervise a junior SLT within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes training, collaboration, and leadership with ongoing CPD, a strong peer network, and support from the Social Care division.

Qualifications

• Experience in learning disabilities including autism spectrum disorders.
• Knowledge of low tech/high tech AAC.
• Ability to supervise a junior SLT.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the delivery of an evidence-based SLT service for complex clients.
• Train and supervise a junior SLT across two homes within the MDT.
• Promote best practice and embed inclusive environments in care.
• Support research and quality improvement initiatives.
