Job summary

CPFT, Peterborough, is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Intensive Support Team. You will deliver assessment, intervention and consultation for adults with learning disabilities and complex communication needs, including dysphagia, across community and inpatient settings.

The role requires HCPC registration, experience with learning disabilities and autism, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes and reduce hospital admissions.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist is required.
• Experience with adults with learning disabilities and autism is essential.
• Dysphagia assessment/management competency preferred or willingness to develop.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, intervention and consultation for adults with learning disabilities.
• Manage a specialist caseload within the Intensive Support Team and inpatient services.
• Offer dysphagia management, communication support and discharge planning.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, risk management and service development.
• Deliver person-centred care and promote safe, effective care pathways.
• Maintain HCPC registration and adhere to professional guidance.
• Provide timely specialist advice to colleagues, carers and families.
• Support continuity of care across community and inpatient pathways.
