Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Complex Needs Team for 30 hours (4 days) per week across Nottinghamshire, delivering SLCN support in homes, clinics, schools and community venues.

Open to experienced Band 5s or existing Band 6s, with opportunities for professional development, supervision, and DBS processes; you will contribute to a large, supportive department committed to high quality child care.

Qualifications

• Experience in assessing and planning for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
• Experience working with children with complex needs is desirable.
• Ability to provide training for other professionals in the area of SLCN.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise own and team caseload, including triaging incoming referrals.
• Carry out assessments and provide appropriate packages of care for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
• Provide training for other professionals in the area of SLCN.
• Provide support and advice for less experienced therapists/assistants.
• Previous dysphagia experience is preferable but not essential, as training can be offered.
