Job summary

CME Group is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) III to strengthen our Google Cloud platform and middleware stack. You will help design resilient, low-latency systems across CME’s core derivatives applications and mentor junior engineers.

In addition to hands-on engineering, you will drive cloud transformation, participate in disaster recovery planning, and lead reliability improvements across cross-functional teams in a hybrid UK-based role.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python, Go, Java or Bash for production-grade tooling.
• Strong Linux, distributed systems and cloud fundamentals.
• Experience with Kubernetes and GKE, CI/CD and IaC tooling.
• Familiarity with observability stacks and telemetry tooling.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and load balancing.

Responsibilities

• Architect, operate, and migrate platform services to Google Cloud Platform.
• Design and maintain observability with OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Lead incident response, post-mortems, and rapid recovery in production.
• Identify toil and drive automation to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and resiliency testing.
• Lead technical discussions and mentor junior SREs.
