Job description

Building a sustainable tomorrow

BAM Construction is recruiting a Senior Site Manager to oversee external and offsite road works on a project in Rosyth at the South West Fife Secondary School.

We seek a candidate with a proven track record in supporting the construction and completion of high-value projects on time and within budget. Reporting to the Project Manager, the ideal candidate should have broad technical construction knowledge in complex substructures, reinforced concrete, and steel frame construction, with the ability to understand and manage internal and external building packages.

Your Mission

1. Implement the Project Management Plan, site procedures, practices, and ensure proper documentation.
2. Ensure compliance with health and safety management and BAM operating procedures.
3. Set up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares, and completion documentation.
4. Implement BAM construction environmental procedures on site.
5. Maintain a site diary recording subcontractor attendance and progress.
6. Ensure the production and monitoring of quality records to verify compliance with specified requirements.
7. Manage direct and subcontracted labor, maintaining records and allocation sheets.
8. Advise on buildability issues as needed.
9. Manage and order materials.
10. Utilize IT equipment for onsite QA and digital information management.
11. Take responsibility for mandatory requirements such as COSHH, lifting, temporary works, and services coordination.
12. Understand BIM and the use of Field 360.

Who Are We Looking For?

1. Experience with external and highway works.
2. Broad technical experience in construction.
3. Relevant Health & Safety qualification and competence in site management tasks.
4. Proficiency in IT packages and systems.
5. HNC/Degree, MCIOB, or equivalent qualification, or a trades background.
6. Valid driver’s license.
