BMSL Group Ltd in Bridgend, South Wales, is looking for a Senior Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure, water, energy and environmental projects across South Wales. The role focuses on technical leadership on site, accurate setting out, quality assurance and adherence to programme and safety standards.

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on civil/infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out, surveying and quality assurance experience.
• Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications and engineering principles.
• Proven experience on live civil engineering projects.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to proactively solve problems and drive project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on site, ensuring works are set out accurately and to spec.
• Manage setting out, surveying and dimensional control for construction activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, site managers and delivery teams.
• Maintain QA documentation and as-built records.
• Support planning, sequencing and programme delivery.
• Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour on site.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction challenges on site.
• Maintain accurate site records and progress documentation.
• Promote health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

We're recruiting for a Senior Site Engineer to join a highly successful contractor delivering major infrastructure, water, energy, environmental and civil engineering projects across South Wales.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer looking to progress their career with a business known for investing in its people, promoting from within and delivering high-profile projects across the UK.

Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and delivery teams, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Senior Site Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership on site, ensuring works are set out accurately, quality standards are maintained and project delivery objectives are achieved.

Key duties will include:

• Providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control for construction activities.
• Managing survey control and ensuring all works are delivered in line with drawings and specifications.
• Conducting quality inspections, checks and testing.
• Producing and maintaining accurate QA documentation and as-built records.
• Supporting project planning, sequencing and programme delivery.
• Coordinating subcontractor[s] and direct labour teams.
• Identifying and resolving technical and construction challenges on site.
• Maintaining accurate site records and progress documentation.
• Promoting and driving the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
• Building strong working relationships with site teams, designers, clients and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out, surveying and quality assurance experience.
• Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications and engineering principles.
• Proven experience working on live civil engineering projects.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to proactively solve problems and drive project delivery.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• SSSTS or SMSTS.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Highly Desirable

• SSSTS or SMSTS.
• Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator.
• GPS and robotic total station experience.
• AutoCAD knowledge.
• NRSWA or utility sector experience.
