Job summary

Octavius Infrastructure Limited is seeking a Senior Site Agent to drive on-site delivery for the A29 Barnham Realignment. You will lead engineers and subcontractors, manage programme and resources, and coordinate with local authorities to minimise disruption while delivering high standards of safety and quality.

The role requires a proven track record in highways or civil projects, strong leadership, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highways or civil engineering projects.
• Ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple workstreams.
• Strong understanding of site management, programme delivery, and subcontract coordination.
• Knowledge of working in live environments with traffic management constraints.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts, HSEQ standards, commercial controls and quality processes.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for site delivery from start to completion.
• Lead engineers and subcontractors, coordinate resources and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Plan and programme works, review delivery strategies and manage traffic-sensitive activities.
• Ensure safety, quality and programme commitments are met and commercial targets pursued.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Site Agent to join us here at Octavius.

Be part of the team delivering the A29 Barnham Realignment, a high-profile highways scheme featuring the construction of a new roundabout and future-proofed transport infrastructure that will support growth across the region.

You'll be working on….

You will take overall responsibility for site delivery and supporting the successful coordination of the project from start to completion.

You'll play a leading role in overseeing day-to-day operations on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards. This includes leading Engineers and subcontractors, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong relationships with the local authority and wider stakeholders.

You'll take ownership of planning and programming works, reviewing and challenging delivery strategies, managing traffic-sensitive activities, and ensuring minimal disruption to the local community — while driving performance across safety, quality and commercial outcomes.

About you….

You're an experienced and confident Senior Site Agent (or an established Site Agent ready to step up) with a strong background in civil engineering and highways.

You're comfortable leading multiple workstreams or complex schemes, overseeing site teams and engaging at a senior level with clients such as local authorities. You take pride in delivering projects safely and to a high standard, while maintaining strong control over programme and commercial performance.

You're proactive, organised and solutions-focused, with the ability to lead, influence and bring people together to achieve successful outcomes.

You'll bring…

• Proven ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple workstreams or complex packages of work.
• Strong understanding of site management, programme delivery, and subcontract coordination.
• Knowledge of working in live environments with traffic management constraints.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts, HSEQ standards, commercial controls and quality processes.
• HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• SMSTS and CSCS Manager card.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
