Job summary

Axion Recruitment Limited is partnering with a Nottingham-based System Integrator to recruit a Senior Controls Engineer. The role focuses on PLC programming from scratch using Siemens TIA Portal, developing bespoke software and driving integration for warehousing and logistics systems.

The successful candidate will lead engineering projects, create technical documentation, and Commission systems across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and PLC programming for automation projects.
• Ability to develop and modify software routines for safe, controlled machine operation.
• Onsite/offsite commissioning and travel within the UK as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects at engineering level per client lead times and standards.
• Develop technical documents with diagrams and industry-standard language.
• Develop bespoke software routines for machines/systems and safety software per BS-EN13849.
• Commission systems onsite within the UK and occasionally overseas.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure project success and adhere to health and safety policies.
