Job summary

Made Tech is seeking a Senior Service Designer to lead systemic service design across public sector engagements, shaping policy intent to digital delivery and organisational change. You will facilitate senior stakeholder conversations, define end-to-end service design approaches, and mentor a growing community of designers and researchers within Made Tech.

You will work across technology, policy, process and organisation to build maturity, share best practices, and contribute to new work

Qualifications

• Expert in core Service Design tools: Service Blueprints, Ecosystem Maps, Stakeholder Maps; prototyping with Figma and GOV.UK kit.
• Experience championing Service Design value internally and externally, influencing clients, partners, and peers.
• Able to coach and mentor designers, setting Service Design standards across engagements.
• Lead mapping of the existing service landscape to identify user and business needs and create shared understanding.
• Map and prototype end-to-end service experiences with journeys, touchpoints, and backstage processes.
• Make public services easy to explain and use, focusing on positive outcomes.
• Consider the entire service system: digital interfaces, policy, operations, and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Assure successful design and delivery of public services across technology, policy, process, and organisation.
• Build service design maturity by facilitating design processes and aligning with senior stakeholders.
• Design, prototype, and test seamless online and offline services aligned to outcomes.
• Advise and mentor teams, promoting service design best practices across Made Tech engagements.
• Represent service design insights publicly and internally through talks and case studies.
