Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced SENDCO for a dedicated secondary academy in North London. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for SEND provision, ensuring inclusive practice across the school and strong student outcomes.

You will lead identification, EHCP processes and collaboration with teachers, parents and external agencies to support diverse learning needs. A proactive, communicative leader is essential for driving quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school setting.
• The relevant SENDCO qualification, or a willingness and eligibility to undertake the required training.
• A thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCPs and statutory responsibilities.
• Experience working with teachers to develop inclusive classroom practice and appropriate interventions.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum adaptation, assessment and strategies to improve student progress; ability to work with parents, carers, external agencies and senior leaders.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the school's SEND provision.
• Ensure effective identification and assessment of students with additional needs.
• Oversee EHCPs and their reviews.
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure differentiated and accessible lessons.
• Develop staff expertise in inclusive teaching strategies and adaptive practice.
• Coordinate targeted interventions and monitor progress impact.
• Build relationships with parents, carers, external agencies and professionals.
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory responsibilities.
• Monitor SEND provision quality and inform improvements using assessment data.
• Work with senior leaders and pastoral teams to promote positive outcomes.
