Job summary

London South East Colleges is seeking a Senior SEND Teaching and Learning Coach in Bromley to provide practical coaching and support that grows teachers’ confidence and capability for diverse learner needs.

You will conduct learning walks, observations and modelling of inclusive teaching, translating EHCP outcomes into classroom practice and developing accessible resources and approaches to improve participation and independence.

Qualifications

• Sustained track record of effective inclusive teaching in FE or HE.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of Universal Design for Learning.
• Experience of coaching, mentoring and modelling effective teaching for colleagues.
• Ability to translate EHCP outcomes, learner profiles and specialist advice into practical teaching strategies.
• Understanding of reasonable adjustments, assistive technology and accessible digital learning.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring teachers to develop accessible and inclusive classroom practice.
• Modelling effective approaches to inclusive teaching, learning and assessment.
• Supporting the implementation of Universal Design for Learning across curriculum areas.
• Carrying out learning walks, classroom visits, observations and focused improvement activity.
• Designing and delivering practical SEND and inclusive teaching CPD.
• Helping teachers translate learner profiles, EHCP outcomes and specialist advice into effective classroom strategies.
• Developing accessible resources, exemplars and classroom tools.
• Supporting teachers to make effective use of accessibility features and assistive technology.
• Using learner feedback, classroom evidence and progress information to evaluate impact.
• Contributing to SEND quality reviews, improvement planning and College-wide quality activity.
• Undertaking teaching where required to model high-quality inclusive practice.
