Job summary

Randstad Education Leeds is seeking a dedicated SEND teaching assistant to support pupils with complex needs in Astrea Academy Trust primary schools across South Yorkshire. The role involves 1:1 or small-group support, implementing IEPs with teachers and SENDCo, and adapting resources to ensure an inclusive curriculum.

You will help pupils develop emotional regulation and resilience, supervising transitions and sensory room sessions to maintain a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• SEND experience in school, care, or youth settings.
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with ASD/ADHD/SEMH.
• Implement IEPs with the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Adapt classroom materials to make the curriculum accessible.
• Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and independence through positive reinforcement.
• Supervise pupils during transitions and sensory room sessions.
