Job summary

Leicestershire County Council in Leicestershire is seeking a Senior SENA Case Manager to lead complex SEND assessments, planning and reviews, ensuring child-centred practice. You will hold a caseload of complex cases and act as the lead professional, in line with SEND legislation and local policies.

You will provide supervision and coaching to Case Managers, contribute to service improvement, and work closely with schools, families, health and social care.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualification or equivalent SEND experience
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and Code of Practice
• Experience supervising colleagues and coaching

Responsibilities

• Lead complex statutory SEN assessments, reviews and planning activity with a person-centred approach
• Represent the local authority at mediations and SEND appeal tribunals with Legal Services
• Provide line management and professional supervision to Case Managers
• Use performance data to inform decision making, quality assurance and service improvement
• Work in partnership with education settings, parents/carers, young people, health, social care and other partners
• Contribute to complaints handling, audit activity and safeguarding within the service
