Job summary

Smile Education in Worcestershire is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across primary and specialist schools in the DY10 area.

You will provide 1:1 support, assist small intervention groups, and work with children with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs, promoting inclusion.

Experience from care, youth work or mental health services is welcomed, with opportunities for long-term placements and ongoing CPD.

Qualifications

• Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support small intervention groups.
• Assist children with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, and other learning needs.
• Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Support pupils with personal development, communication and social interaction.
