Job summary

The Esland Group Ltd seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at our new Doncaster school to support SEN pupils aged 7 to 18, delivering lessons one-to-one or in small groups.

You will work with teachers to plan and adapt activities, maintain records, monitor progress, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Proven experience in working in an education setting.
• Ability to plan, evaluate and monitor learning and progress.
• Commitment to inclusion and supporting diverse learners.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person.
• Form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
• Ensuring safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made.
• Assisting in planning and preparing lessons with teachers, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans where necessary.
• Developing and preparing resources for learning activities in accordance with lesson plans and in response to student needs.
• Identify strategies to help overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning.
• Ensuring that records are maintained accurately and progress is monitored.
• Maintaining outstanding professional practice.
