Job summary

Coast and Vale Learning Trust is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teachers in delivering high-quality SEN-focused education across our schools. You’ll assist with curriculum delivery, assessment, and safeguarding, while supervising classes during short-term teacher absences.

You will work closely with teaching staff to raise standards, promote independent learning, and support pupil welfare and inclusion across the Trust’s settings.

Qualifications

• Supports curriculum delivery and assessment as per policy.
• Creates supportive learning environment.
• Manages behaviour and promotes independence.

Responsibilities

• Assist children in developing knowledge, skills and attitudes as defined by the curriculum.
• Plan, evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans with Teachers and resources.
• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence.
• Provide support for pupils, teachers and assistants to raise standards.
• Encourage independent learning and pupil welfare participation.
• Uphold HLTA standards in all aspects of work.
• Contribute to professional development per SPT/School processes.
• Use IT assessment, recording and reporting systems.
