Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in the UK seeks a Senior Project Engineer to support Protective Design and Security projects across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. You will deliver security planning and design advice to a variety of clients, guiding projects from concept through to delivery.

The role requires a degree and 5–10 years in security design, with experience in physical and electronic security solutions. You will manage projects, liaise with clients and partners, and ensure quality standards

Qualifications

Degree in relevant subject.
5-10 years' experience in a relevant role.
Relevant experience in design of physical security solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide security design advice to clients at all stages in their project life cycle.
Carry out concept, outline, scheme and detailed designs for electronic security systems.
Design works for physical security measures against manual forced entry.
Provide contract and tender documentation, tender works, analyse tenders and award contracts.
Carry out security surveys of existing solutions and provide reports including security upgrade recommendations and budgetary costings.
Monitor works, witness testing and commissioning and provide close-out documentation.
Liaise with colleagues, clients, suppliers, manufacturers and contractors to ensure successful execution of projects.
Experience in the management and delivery of projects.
An ability to communicate with clients, design teams, security stakeholders, and colleagues.
Attend training seminars and conferences to develop expertise in security engineering.
