The Security Analyst role is a 2nd line night-shift position requiring a 4x4 pattern, hybrid work and on-site presence in Newcastle upon-Tyne. You will maintain the Security Operations Centre, triage and remediate SIEM incidents in Microsoft Sentinel, conduct threat intelligence and research, and document

Qualifications

• Experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) with incident response.
• Hands-on with Microsoft security stack: Entra, Defender for Cloud, Defender XDR, Intune.
• Windows Server and desktops; Linux experience beneficial.
• Networking and security technologies: firewalls, WAFs, gateways, network infra.
• KQL and PowerShell for investigations, automation and optimization.
• Clear security playbooks, processes and network diagrams documentation.
• Self-motivated, organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on investigating and responding to security incidents and drive to resolution.
• Proactively monitor environments, threat hunting and risk identification.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and improve customer security posture through remediation.
• Collaborate with senior analysts on threat intelligence and detection improvements.
• Mentor junior SOC analysts and act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Work with Service Desk and Customer Success to ensure excellent outcomes.
• Shape SOC processes and contribute to service improvements and reporting.
