Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence in Manchester is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst & Shift Lead to operate and improve a dedicated SOC protecting client networks in Azure and AWS.

You will work in a 24/7 shift-based environment, leveraging SIEM tools to detect and investigate security incidents, and collaborate with multiple teams. The role requires flexibility for DV/SC readiness and hybrid working where available.

Qualifications

• Basic Python and scripting skills across Windows, macOS and Linux.
• Experience using Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Familiarity with a range of security tooling and networking concepts.
• Strong understanding of threat intelligence and operationalising it.
• Experience investigating complex network intrusions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage, analyse and investigate alerts and network traffic using SIEM tools.
• Categorise incidents in line with the security incident policy and write incident tickets.
• Assist with remediation activities and coordinate with customer stakeholders to inhibit attacks.
• Produce security incident review reports with improvement recommendations.
• Support national-scale incidents and develop workflows for automation in SOAR.
