Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence in Manchester is recruiting a Senior SOC Analyst to join our 24/7 Security Operations Centre. The role involves monitoring and investigating security incidents across Azure and AWS-hosted networks, with a heavy emphasis on SIEM tooling and incident response.

Initial requirements include a mix of 6- and 12-month roles, with potential extension. The position is based in a hybrid model, with day-to-day operations primarily from our Leeds office for customer access.

Qualifications

• Basic Python or scripting skills; Windows, OS X, and Linux.
• Experience using Splunk and Sentinal.
• Understanding of security architecture, networking, and threat intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure shift handover brief is delivered to the incoming shift.
• Monitor, triage, analyse and investigate alerts and network traffic.
• Categorise suspected incidents per Security Incident policy.
• Recognise intrusion attempts and compromises through incident analysis.
• Write high quality security incident tickets using knowledge and research.
• Assist with remediation activities to inhibit cyber-attacks and secure networks.
