Job summary

Sphere Solutions seeks an experienced Section Engineer to support Welsh Water delivery projects across the AMP8 portfolio in Wales. The role focuses on engineering leadership, technical expertise, and ensuring safe, efficient project delivery within our framework team.

You will mentor junior engineers and site teams, coordinate engineering activities, and ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards while contributing to programme planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction/utilities/infrastructure.
• Delivery of civil engineering projects from planning to completion.
• Ability to manage activities with quality, safety and programme objectives.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and technical support throughout project delivery.
• Plan and coordinate engineering activities to support project outcomes.
• Ensure works comply with specifications, drawings and quality standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site staff.
• Support Site Agent in planning and delivering construction activities.
• Monitor site operations and provide engineering solutions to challenges.
• Assist with programme management and progress monitoring.
• Maintain engineering records and quality assurance requirements.
• Support health, safety and environmental standards implementation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes.
