Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment seeks a hands-on Section Engineer to lead setting-out and site QA on a major highways/infrastructure project in Colchester. You will work closely with Site Management to deliver quality works on time and within RAMS and HSE requirements.

The role suits an experienced Site Engineer with strong surveying, AutoCAD data transfer, and mentoring skills, with full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Eastern region.

Qualifications

• Previous Section Engineer / Site Engineer experience on highways or infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out experience across highways, roads and earthworks.
• Proficiency with Leica or Geomax surveying equipment and AutoCAD data transfer.

Responsibilities

• Manage sectional setting out across the project.
• Carry out quality take-offs and work with Site Management.
• Complete inspections and testing to ensure design compliance.
• Manage ITPs, QA and site documentation.
• Oversee sectional service drawings and issue permits when required.
• Support QS and Project Manager with records and variations.
• Manage as-built information and RAMS development.
• Identify commercial opportunities and project issues.
• Mentor Junior Engineers and promote safety.
• Travel across the Eastern region as needed.
