Job summary

Jackson Civil Engineering in Colchester is seeking a Section Engineer to progress the construction of major infrastructure works. You will coordinate setting out, site management and QA, ensuring design conformity and safety compliance while mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires hands-on experience with highway/earthworks projects, familiarity with Leica/Geomax surveying equipment and AutoCAD transfers.

Qualifications

Extensive setting-out experience on infrastructure projects including highways and earthworks.
Experience with Leica/Geomax surveying equipment and AutoCAD data transfer.
Understanding of ITPs and quality assurance processes.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel in the Eastern Region.

Responsibilities

Liaise with site management to complete quality take-offs.
Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities or issues with the project.
Carry out inspections and testing to ensure conformance with the design and specification.
Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
Manage sectional setting-out requirements on site.
Assist the QS/Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims.
