Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to support projects across the South East. The role involves setting out roads, drainage and infrastructure on 4-5 live sites with value-driven, long-term work across the region.

The candidate will use Leica Total Stations TS16 and AutoCAD, read drawings accurately, and coordinate with site teams to maintain safety and programme delivery. A strong solo-working capability is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Setting Out Engineer, Site Engineer or Land Surveyor with strong setting out experience.
• Background within groundworks, civil engineering, infrastructure or residential construction.
• Experience using Leica Total Stations, ideally TS16 and AutoCAD.
• Full UK Driving Licence and ability to work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out across 4-5 groundworks and infrastructure projects.
• Setting out of roads, drainage, foundations, external works and associated infrastructure.
• Work across residential development sites throughout the South East.
• Use Leica Total Stations / TS16 equipment to accurately set out works.
• Read, interpret and work from engineering and construction drawings.
• Produce and review drawings using AutoCAD.
• Complete QA checks, surveys and as-built information where required.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Foremen, Contracts Managers and site teams.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and operatives to ensure works are delivered accurately and efficiently.
• Help identify and resolve technical or setting out issues on site.
• Ensure works are completed safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.
