Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a highways project in Colchester, Essex. You will provide technical support, set out works and coordinate with the site team to deliver quality, on time and safely.

The ideal candidate will have proven civil engineering experience on highways projects, the ability to read drawings, and strong communication skills. A full UK driving licence is advantageous for site access.

Qualifications

• Proven Section Engineer on highways or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction and site delivery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and site teams.
• CSCS and relevant site-based engineering qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering support across your section of the project.
• Set out and provide technical guidance to site teams.
• Coordinate engineering activities with Site Agent and Project Manager.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Ensure works conform to approved designs and standards.
• Carry out quality inspections and maintain records.
• Monitor progress and assist with the project programme.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and project team.
• Assist with inspection/test plans and quality documentation.
• Identify issues and develop effective solutions.
• Support health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
