Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced Senior Science Technician for a large, high-achieving secondary school in Basingstoke, starting September 2026. You will support the delivery of practical Science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the Science Department.

You will lead on preparing resources, maintaining equipment, managing stock, and supporting teachers with demonstrations and experiments, while upholding health and safety standards

Qualifications

• Has previous experience in a Science Technician or laboratory-based role.
• Strong organizational and technical skills.
• Good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
• Passion for supporting high-quality Science education.

Responsibilities

• Leading on the preparation and organisation of practical Science resources.
• Supporting teachers with practical investigations and demonstrations.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring it remains safe and fit for purpose.
• Managing stock levels and ordering equipment and consumables.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Supporting the wider technician team and coordinating departmental operations.
