Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a Science Technician to join a well-established secondary school in Farnworth, Bolton from September 2026. The role involves preparing equipment and resources for practical science lessons, and supporting teachers across the Science Department.

You will maintain and organise laboratories, ensure health and safety procedures are followed, monitor stock levels, and assist with the day-to-day running of the department.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory or school environment preferred.
• Organised, reliable and confident working independently.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a busy Science Department.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and resources for practical Science lessons.
• Supporting teachers with preparation and delivery of practical experiments.
• Maintaining and organising Science laboratories, equipment and resources.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Monitoring and maintaining stock levels and ordering resources when required.
• Carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Science Department.
