Job summary

Highclare School is seeking a Learning Mentor to join our Senior School Learning Support department to provide emotional encouragement and academic support to a student with an Education Health Care Plan.

Applicants should be HLTA or equivalent, with experience in a secondary school and in adapting resources up to GCSE level, including liaising with therapists. This is a full-time post, 08:30–15:30, term time only, on a rolling fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

• HLTA level or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a secondary school environment.
• Ability to adapt resources and curriculum up to GCSE level.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional encouragement and academic support to the student with an Education Health Care Plan.
• Collaborate with class teachers to adapt resources and curriculum up to GCSE level.
• Liaise with occupational/speech and language therapists and deliver their programme.
