Job summary

King Edward VI School in Lichfield is seeking a self-motivated Senior Catering Assistant to join our catering team. You would work under the supervision of the Catering Manager and supervise a small team in their absence, bringing initiative and reliability to daily kitchen operations.

The role requires good communication with colleagues and pupils, planning and producing meals, and supporting menu options, healthy eating guidance, and stock control. IT and administrative tasks are also valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering settings, preferably in schools.
• Ability to supervise a small team in the absence of the Catering Manager.
• Strong communication with staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and production of school meals.
• Assist with menu options and healthy eating guidance.
• Assist with food ordering and stock control; ensure health and safety compliance.
• Support Catering Manager and supervise team during absence.
• Carry out IT and administrative tasks as required.
