Job summary

King Edward VI School Lichfield is seeking a motivated Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team. The role is 25 hours per week, term time plus 3 additional days, with a permanent contract and a pro rata salary. You will prepare meals, serve at the counter, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Strong communication and the ability to work as part of a team or independently are essential. Previous school kitchen experience is desirable but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school kitchen is preferred but not essential.
• Good cooking skills and able to work in a team or alone.
• Good communication skills and health and safety knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Skilled cooking and food preparation.
• Counter service; general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up and setting up/clearing service points.
