Job summary

Redzone seeks a seasoned Backend Engineer to own the QAD Redzone API Backend in Scala and to build the MCP server for AI integrations, delivering reliable interfaces for manufacturing frontline teams. You will optimize OpenSearch usage, participate in sprint delivery, and contribute to testing with Specs2/ScalaMock, while operating in a modern stack including AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Docker and CI/CD.

This role offers remote work in the UK with a competitive base pay and an annual performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on Scala/JVM services.
• Experience delivering API-first backends and strong design discipline.
• Knowledge of OpenApi/OAS, and experience with OpenSearch is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the QAD Redzone API Backend (Scala).
• Develop and maintain the MCP server to support AI integrations.
• Improve the use of OpenSearch within the backend application.
• Complete sprint work and deliver to achieve business goals.
• Provide incident expertise to resolve customer issues quickly.
• Write testable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
