Job summary

QAD Redzone is hiring a Backend Engineer to develop and maintain the API backend in Scala for frontline teams and to support the MCP server for AI integrations.

You will work on OpenSearch integration, incident response, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced Agile team in the UK. This full-time role requires proximity to the UK and enables hands-on work with modern Scala/Java backend tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
• Required languages: Scala (5+ years) and Java.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the QAD Redzone API Backend (Scala) for frontline teams.
• Develop and maintain the MCP server to support AI integrations.
• Improve OpenSearch usage in the backend.
• Complete sprint commitments to achieve goals.
• Provide SME during incidents to resolve issues quickly.
• Write testable and maintainable code.
