Job summary

QAD Redzone is hiring a Backend Engineer to build and maintain the API backend in Scala for frontline manufacturing teams. You will also support the MCP server for AI integrations and enhance OpenSearch usage in the backend. The role emphasizes delivering sprint commitments and writing clean, testable code.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in backend development with Scala and Java, APIs, and modern tooling. This full-time position is based in the UK Birmingham area with potential for growth.

• Help the business maintain a competitive edge by leveraging the latest Scala and Web technologies.

• Knowledgeable of maintaining versioned API contracts
• Transforming objects with Chimney
• Async programming with Cats Effect

• Knowledgeable of database migration patterns, such as, expand and contract

Additional Information

Compensation Package

• Base pay range: $110,000-115,000 GBP Annual (12 Months)
• Placement within our pay range will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market location variations as well as internal peer equity.
• This position is also eligible for an annual company performance bonus.
