Job summary

Manchester City is seeking a Safety & Security Manager to lead on-site safety and security for matchdays and events at the Etihad Campus and City Football Academy. You will plan and execute complex operations, manage risk assessments, and oversee personnel deployment to ensure a welcoming, well-managed experience for spectators and staff.

The role requires working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed, reporting to the Head of Safety and Security, and ensuring compliance with club policies

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering safety and security operations for large-scale sporting or entertainment events.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidance governing spectator safety.
• NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety or equivalent progress towards completion.
• Ability to evaluate operational risks, provide informed advice and identify practical solutions.
• Experience developing and delivering detailed operational plans and briefings in sporting/event environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and assure safety and security operations for fixtures and events at the Etihad Stadium and Joie Stadium.
• Assess risk, prepare operational orders, event briefings and risk assessments; ensure compliance with Safety Certificates and club policies.
• Support recruitment, training, deployment and welfare of staff, casual workers and agency personnel.
• Collaborate with campus teams and external partners to deliver joined-up safety arrangements.
• Contribute to safeguarding culture by escalating concerns to the appropriate policies and guidance.
