Job summary

Proton is seeking a Senior Drive Foundation Engineer to design, implement and maintain foundational libraries powering Proton Drive applications. You will collaborate with Drive teams across backend, web, mobile and desktop to ensure seamless integration and high performance.

You will architect core libraries in Rust, C#/TypeScript, and work across platforms, with emphasis on code quality, testing, and thorough documentation to help other developers reuse the components.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with Rust.
• Strong Rust language features, concurrency, and ownership.
• Experience building libraries for client applications (web/mobile/desktop).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Problem-solving and debugging abilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop core libraries for Proton Drive.
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility across clients.
• Conduct code reviews and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, mobile, and desktop teams.
• Develop tests and testing strategies (unit/integration).
• Create and maintain thorough documentation.
